Meet Gals Bio Team

Hilla Shaviv

Inventor, Founder & CEO

Hilla Shaviv is a biomedical engineer and a serial entrepreneur in the women's health arena, with more than 20 years of experience in medical device R&D, the last 13 of which she focused on researching and developing women's health devices. Hilla studied bio-fluid dynamics focusing on developing a heart assist device, as well as carrying out computational blood flow and in-vitro simulations. After working as an R&D medical device engineer for a few years, Hilla decided to shift gears and begin working on her own innovations.  In 2007 she founded her first company, GalMedics, with the goal of developing a novel tampon for women that treats primary dysmenorrhea. In spite of the device's great success during clinical trials, it never reached the market due to lack of funding. In 2016, Hilla started working on her second innovation, called Tulipon, under her second company Gals Bio. Tulipon is an innovative vaginal platform that supports a new line of non-invasive easy-to-use, vaginal devices that will establish a new branch of women's health and wellness.

Hilla earned a BSc from Caltech (Mechanical & Fluid Dynamics Engineering, cum laude) and an MSc from Tel Aviv University (Biomedical Engineering).
